Dr Ferguson brings over 30 years of experience and has been practicing Psychiatry in Chattanooga Tennessee since 1990. His training was completed at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas where he attended Medical School, completed his Residency in Psychiatry as well as a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. His primary focus is his outpatient practice, although he continues his inpatient work on the Child and Adolescent Unit at Parkridge Valley Hospital. Dr Ferguson’s philosophy of care is to work with patients by discussing the best medications and treatment options available to them. He believes in listening closely and working with the patient to achieve the biggest gains possible. By educating patients how medications and other treatments work this allows him to work with the patient collaboratively to choose the best choices of treatment currently available based on patient symptoms, past medication trials, health issues and costs. By having the patient understanding and participating in the process he feels this helps with overall improvements and better outcomes.
